Poetry Pocket Routines
On Monday children receive the new poem and lucky listener sheet. Usually there is a work page to complete before Friday. The poetry pocket stays home and on each of the remaining nights the children read aloud again twice. The listener must sign and date the lucky listener sheet each night. As a listener make sure to listen for voice, expression and speed for reading fluency. The poetry pocket is returned on Friday with the work and listener sheet fully completed. On Friday we listen to readers.

Ms. Dillon's Homework Policy
Homework is assigned to reinforce what your child has learned that day, to teach responsibility and organization, and to give parents an opportunity to be involved in their child's learning.
My expectation is that homework is completed each day that it is assigned. If extenuating circumstances occur I ask parents to write a note in the child's homework folder. If not, the child might be asked to stay in for a few minutes to work on it during recess time. I still allow a 10 minute fresh air break.
